Accounting SupervisorJob Code: 2021-ADMINIST-014Location: AdministrationDepartment: AccountingFT/PT Status: Full TimeJob Responsibilities: Accounting Supervisor Wisconsin Community Services (WCS) Accounting - Community Based Mental Health Program (CBMHP) Position Summary: This position has supervisory responsibility for support staff, including the Client Services Representative, Benefits Specialists, Receptionist, and Office Clerk. Develops, implements, and maintains all financial services processes and controls for program participants including payee services. Essential Functions: Recruits, screens, interviews, and trains support staff Provides ongoing supervision, training, and evaluations of assigned staff Ensures adequate staff coverage for support positions in the CBMHP by managing and approving support staff schedules; delegates or provides back-up as needed Develops, implements and maintains financial systems for payee participants receiving Social Security benefits including, but not limited to, money management Oversees review and posting to payee accounts on a regular basis; monitors payee accounts for maintenance at an acceptable level Oversees payment of bills and monthly installments/rent for payee participants Serves as product owner for technology resources utilized by CBMHP staff in support of payee participants' financial needs Reviews data entry and provides quality assurance for staff connected to payee accounts Ensures appropriate case noting by support staff to maximize program billing Completes cash/bus ticket/bus pass reconciliations Assists with check printing, cash receipts, and other general ledger entries Responsible for various reporting, such as payee balances and check payment distribution schedules Oversees external audits and reviews Other Duties and Responsibilities: Attend clinical staffings as needed Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position Job Qualifications: Minimal Qualifications: Associates Degree in Accounting; Bachelor's degree preferred. Some experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illnesses. Other Job Information (if applicable): Work Relationship and Scope: Reports directly to the Director of Finance; supervises support staff; works with other staff and participants Personal Attributes: Follow agency Code of Conduct and Leadership Code of Conduct; adhere to established policies and procedures of the agency and of all funding sources; conduct self in an ethical manner; maintain professional and respectful relationships with program staff, other WCS staff, participants, and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues; demonstrate commitment to agency values and mission. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Financial services knowledge with the ability to clearly communicate this to others; good staff supervision skills and the ability to maintain and promote positive working relationships within the program; good understanding of mental illness and its effects of participants and their families; effective use of time and resources to help maintain quality support services; good organizational, computer and typing skills; ability to cope with emergency situations with a highly impaired population. Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a busy clinic environment where participants' symptomatology may be evident; most of the work is done sitting at a desk and using the computer; hours average 40 hours per week; flexible work schedule may include some holidays if the program is open; may be required to work on busy participant days such as "check days." Physical Demands: Work is mostly sedentary in nature and requires sitting for long periods of time with occasional trips to the printer and copier; duties require hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing.
