Description Summer Health & Wellness Coordinator Boys & Girls Club of Portage County – Stevens Point, WI No nights and no weekends. Club site open 730am -5pm Monday thru Friday Perfect for college students passionate about fitness, nutrition, wellness, or youth development! Make a difference this summer by helping youth build healthy habits that last a lifetime! The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is looking for an energetic, positive, and responsible Summer Health & Wellness Coordinator to inspire our members through fun, hands?on wellness programs. If you’re passionate about health, nutrition, gardening, fitness, mental wellness, or working with youth, this is the perfect role for you. You’ll get to run awesome programs, get creative, work outside in the garden, teach wellness skills, and support kids in grades 1–6 in becoming their healthiest selves. What You’ll Do As our Health & Wellness Coordinator, you will: Program Leadership Plan, organize, and implement fun, engaging health & wellness programs Lead daily and weekly activities that help youth build healthy habits Encourage participation and motivate members to stay active and involved Serve as a positive role model and coach for Club members Create a safe, welcoming environment and supervise youth in program areas Work independently and as part of a supportive team Program Management Oversee and discipline youth appropriately using Club guidance strategies Implement program goals, objectives, procedures, and work standards Evaluate program success and adjust activities based on youth needs Train and guide volunteers; provide ongoing feedback Maintain, organize, and secure all program supplies and equipment Keep program areas clean, safe, and well stocked Submit a biweekly schedule of activities to the Center Director Communicate needs for supplies at least one week in advance Read and respond to emails promptly Core Health & Wellness Responsibilities Ensure tools and materials are cleaned and put away after every program Maintain the Club garden throughout the season Track what the garden produces (harvest logs, growth tracking, etc.) Lead or support all nationally recognized Boys & Girls Club health programs such as: Healthy Habits SMART Moves Green Thumb (And other wellness initiatives) Additional Opportunities Purchase supplies with supervisor approval Support staff with special events and large programs Use behavior guidance strategies to support positive youth development Drive the Club van if needed (training provided) Attend field trips, special programs, and community events Recruit members through school visits, social media, or community outreach Assist with over?recruitment for special programs Maintain flexibility to meet seasonal Clubhouse needs Qualifications ? Qualifications High school diploma or GED Degree or currently pursuing a degree in an arts?related or wellness?related field (education, health, nutrition, recreation, psychology, etc.) Experience working with children Knowledge of youth development strategies Ability to motivate youth and support positive behavior Comfortable interacting with the general public Ability to plan and implement high?quality programs for youth Able to organize and supervise members safely Ability to work effectively with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds ??? Physical Requirements & Work Environment Able to function in fast?paced, active, and sometimes noisy environments May require standing, moving, or being physically active for long periods Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels Ability to speak clearly and audibly so youth and staff can understand instructions Physical agility to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds
