Sr Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating and performingactivities for the proper application of inspection methods, ensuringcompliance with all quality standards.This function is authorized to halt production or hold shipment ofsuspect material pending review Major Responsibilities: Sr Quality Engineer proactively staff, schedule and implements all QC relatedactivities and personnel training in the plant in order to maximize production,improve processes and procedures, and customer experience..Sr Quality Engineeris responsible for coordinating andperforming activities for the proper application of inspection methods,ensuring compliance with all quality standards and customer specification. Specificresponsibilities include: Establishand implement quality systems to include guidelines, processes and standardsfor raw materials, in-process and finish products. Ensureproper documentation of quality systems, processes and standards. Developand recommend capex investment, inspection techniques and process controlprocedures to ensure production of finished products meet qualityspecifications and standards. Coordinateand conduct internal quality system audits to determine compliance to ISO 9001standards. Providetechnical assistance to the purchasing department, Industrial Engineers andothers in connection with raw materials and subcontract machining. Reviewrejections and quality problems making determination as to feasibility ofsalvage with considerations as to cost, customer acceptance or scrap anddeciding on allowable deviations. Reviewcomplaints and returns from customers to determine root cause and correctiveaction. Communicate and provide assistance to customers regarding qualityproblems or concerns. Establishthe use of charts and graphic illustrations of quality control applicationeffects and cost reductions for quality functions. Directlysupervise employees in the Quality Department. Carry out responsibilities inaccordance with the organizations policies and rules, complete final inspectionactions required to execute shipping schedule. Responsiblefor interviewing, hiring and training quality department employees. Planning,assigning and directing work. Appraising performance, rewarding anddisciplining employees. Addressing complaints and resolving problems Maintainquality system procedures and monitor their application throughout theorganization, develop and conduct internal audits. Investigaterejections or quality problems (NCRs) and evaluate production procedures todetermine root cause and corrective action. Communicate with Engineering orOperations management on noted deviations of quality. Assistin making determinations as to feasibility of salvage with considerations as tocost, customer acceptance or scrap and deciding on allowable deviations. Providetechnical assistance to the purchasing department I connection with rawmaterials and subcontract machining. Investigatedefects and deviations on incoming raw material or sub-contract work to determineroot cause and corrective action. Communicate with Engineering, Purchasing orProduction management on noted deviations of quality. Conductresearch, make recommendations and assist with development in establishinginspection methods and procedures on inspection equipment and record systems. Guideand train quality or production personnel in the proper use of inspectionequipment and procedures. Maintaincharts and graphic illustrations of quality control application effects andcost reductions for quality functions.Provide input and assist in the development and execution of MG AnnualQuality Improvement Plan. Assistin processing customer complaints and returns to determine root cause andcorrective action. Participatein various company programs such as training, safety, communications, etc. Qualifications 7+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer within a metal-cutting environment (i.e. machine shop, job shop, etc.)

• Technical Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering preferred Proven experience in First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Primary Location : United States Work Locations : Milwaukee Wisconsin 5150 N.
