Highly integrated, production facilities . The Manufacturing Engineers are c hallenged daily to find solutions to complex mechanical issues while supporting. This position enjoys w orking with a high level of autonomy and flexibility while being challenged reg ularly to find new and creative solutions to complex problems. What you'll do: Mentor, train, and support plant mechanics and plant leadership by sharing your knowledge on how to rapidly debug and diagnose problems with can-making equipment to avoid negative impact on product quality and throughput Direct major equipment overhauls and audits Specify, develop, and debug new products, production equipment, and manufacturing lines as required to produce products so that Silgan can meet or exceed customer performance requirements Assist plants and OEM suppliers/vendors in the identification and debugging of mechanical production problems to improve line efficiencies, increase product quality, increase production capacity, and eliminate repetitive work-related injuries We need you to have: A Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering; will consider experience in place of a degree 3+ years of manufacturing experience, container manufacturing experience preferred Ability to travel regularly to production facilities and equipment vendors as required up to 50% of the year Experience in Can Manufacturing - focusing on coil, coating, Lithography and oxidizers What we offer: Comprehensive training program on Silgan can-making equipment A competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan with a 6% employer match Opportunities for advancement Who we are: A stable, reliable, and environmentally conscious company A leading supplier of metal food containers in North America and Europe and worldwide supplier of plastic bottles and closures across various end markets.
