Job Description Job Description Controls Field Service Technician Location: Schaumburg, IL Pay: 45/hr Overview We are seeking a hands-on Controls Field Service Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of industrial equipment at customer facilities. This role is highly customer-facing and plays a critical part in resolving both warranty and non-warranty service issues, executing service contracts, and supporting long-term customer relationships. You’ll work with advanced automation and controls systems while representing the company on-site as a trusted technical resource. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment at customer sites Access and debug PLC and HMI programs using trends and diagnostic tools Make online programming changes for equipment upgrades and retrofits Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot servos, VFDs, remote I/O, Ethernet, and Profibus networks Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics Troubleshoot and service electrical control panels Coordinate with suppliers to resolve technical issues on-site Manage and execute service contracts through completion, including longer-term engagements Travel to domestic and occasional international customer locations Qualifications Preferred degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent hands-on experience 3–6 years of mechanical and electrical field service experience Strong experience with Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems preferred Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments under tight deadlines Excellent customer service and communication skills Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently Visual and hearing acuity sufficient for technical work and communication Work in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and electrical systems Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
