Manufacturing Facility Position Summary The General Industrial
Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and
repairing production equipment and facility systems within a
precast concrete manufacturing plant. This role ensures plant
machinery operates safely and efficiently to support continuous
production. The position includes preventive maintenance,
mechanical repairs, fabrication, and emergency response to
equipment breakdowns. Key Responsibilities - Perform routine
preventive maintenance on production equipment - Diagnose and
repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical
systems - Maintain mixers, batch plants, conveyors, vibration
tables, molds, and curing systems - Troubleshoot motor, gearbox,
bearing, and drive system issues - Replace worn components
including belts, chains, sprockets, seals, and bearings - Perform
welding, cutting, and light fabrication as needed - Maintain air
systems, compressors, and plant utilities - Respond quickly to
production breakdowns to minimize downtime - Inspect equipment
regularly and recommend repairs or upgrades - Maintain maintenance
logs and service documentation - Follow all safety policies and
OSHA standards Equipment Typically Serviced - Concrete batch plant
and mixers - Conveyors and material handling systems - Vibration
tables and compaction equipment - Hydraulic and pneumatic systems -
Overhead cranes and hoists - Air compressors and plant utility
systems - Forklifts (propane and diesel) - Small gas-powered
equipment Qualifications - 3 years of industrial maintenance
experience - Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy
manufacturing - Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and
mechanical drive systems - Basic electrical troubleshooting ability
(motors, relays, controls) - Welding and fabrication experience
preferred - Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment
manuals - Must be relatively familiar with forklift propane
engines, diesel engines, and gasoline engines - Ability to work
independently and prioritize tasks Skills - Strong troubleshooting
and diagnostic capability - Preventive maintenance mindset -
Organized and detail-oriented - Ability to work in a fast-paced
production environment - Effective communication with supervisors
and production teams Work Environment - Industrial precast concrete
plant - Exposure to dust, noise, moving machinery, and varying
temperatures - Physical work including lifting, climbing, bending,
