Within Rexnord Power Transmission, we design, manufacture, market and service specified, highly engineered mechanical components worldwide used within complex systems where our customers' reliability requirements and the cost of failure or downtime are extremely high. Job Description

The Quality Manager will report to the plant manager of Specialty Components and lead a Quality function to provide tactical and strategic implementation of our quality management system. This role will manage internal and external customer quality relationships, deliver internal quality measures, drive and implement continuous improvement to deliver year over year reduced cost of poor quality through improved IPPM and EPPM and managing quality related matters for this division. The Quality Manager will lead the team of quality technicians and manage the ISO process.


  • Develop and implement quality processes
  • Collect, record and analyze statistical data
  • Lead manufacturing on quality issues to help determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Interface with suppliers and customers on quality issues to help determine root cause and corrective actions and supplier scorecards
  • Serve as the management representative for our ISO9001:2015 based quality management system; lead role in the compliance and continual improvement of system.
  • Drive continuous improvement utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, Kaizen principles, APQP, SPC and other quality tools.
  • Champion the external third party and internal audit processes, training internal auditors, determining schedules, priorities, developing reports and lead in the implementation of corrective and preventative actions resulting from audits.
  • Investigate and analyze customer concerns and returns leading the material review board process, determine containment, disposition, root cause corrective action and implementation of preventive actions.
  • Conduct and/or supervise studies to determine cause effect and corrective measures required to remedy internal deviation from desirable standards of quality.
  • Support supply chain team to source products from new and existing suppliers
  • Establish and direct an overall vision and direction for the daily operations of quality technician, including dimensional verification and inspections, first article processes and maintenance and calibration of all gauges and measuring devices and all associated testing procedures and record retention.
  • Lead and implement cost control, savings and quality initiatives related to internal/external PPM, process improvement and customer issues. Collect, analyze and report on cost of quality and other metrics.

      • Bachelor's Degree in Quality or related technical field and/or 5 years Quality system experience
      • 1-3 years of team leadership/supervisory experience is highly preferred
      • Experience implementing and applying quality in manufacturing environments
      • Working knowledge of statistical techniques and quality control procedures
      • Familiar with budgeting and reporting policies
      • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze and solve complex problems/issues
      • Able to promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture both internally and at our supplier's (machining and special processing)
      • Strong written communication and oral presentation skills, and with the ability to present professional manner
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, highly proficient in spreadsheet applications
      • Highly committed team player, flexible, self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines
      • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100c & ISO 13485 standards
      • Able to engage and communicate with customers, suppliers and associates at all levels of the business
      • Able to travel domestically and internationally to supplier sites as needed.
