The vision of Children's Wisconsin is for the kids in Wisconsin to be the healthiest in the nation. We currently seek a strategic and innovative leader to lead our Compensation and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) team. The Director of Compensation and HRIS will be r esponsible for driving the evolution of our HRIS to be more efficient, user-friendly, and cost-effective. This leader will research, analyze, design and maintain HR systems for best practice application. Additionally, this key leader will be accountable for improving business processes, providing business expertise for technology projects and engaging with stakeholders to help them understand technology delivery. The incumbent be responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication and administration of the organization's compensation and recognition programs, and will lead compensation initiatives by applying best practice compensation strategies to provide compensation solutions designed to support business, team and leadership goals. This leader will act as a consultant and lead subject matter expert in compensation based on a deep knowledge of all facets of broad-based and incentive compensation to identify future programs and practices. Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources , Finance, Business or closely related field in order to understand, administer and effectively communicate compensation related matters. Master's degree in Business Administration or related field and certified compensation professional (CCP) desired.
  • Requires deep understanding of HRIS functionality and broad knowledge of direct and indirect compensation and related human resource management programs normally acquired in at least seven years of progressively more responsible work experience. Additional experience in a management position leading staff and directing department activities required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of total compensation programs including base pay, incentives, market pricing, job evaluation methodology, job architecture/career paths. Prior compensation consulting and physician compensation experience desirable.
  • Broad understanding of the external competitive market and the regulatory and compliance environment that impact compensation practices.
  • Requires working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Human Resources Information Systems (PeopleSoft or others) and the ability to collaborate with others and make recommendations regarding system best practices to assure technology solutions support the Human Resources delivery model.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to respond to management inquiries/concerns, effectively lead s taff and communicate with a wide variety of organizational and outside personnel in gathering, exchanging and interpreting often sensitive compensation information.
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to identify, resolve and/or make recommendations regarding relatively complex compensation related matters, such as sensitive market review requests, annual range structure adjustment plans, merit increases and performance evaluation justification or job analysis of top management personnel.
