By comprehensively driving lasting change across our company, field and clients, the Assistant Director, Growth Segment Marketing will support brand strategy, positioning and activation to drive consumer awareness, affinity and long-term relationships with underrepresented consumers. You'll collaborate and influence internal, cross-functional partners as we build and sustain our brand within these emerging growth segments. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Leads day-to-day strategy, thought leadership, management and execution of marketing campaigns to position the company as the leader in advancing women and African American/Black consumer efforts. Marketing lead and core partner with cross-functional teams including HR, Field, Communications to build appropriate plans based off insights to drive business impact within the emerging consumer growth segments. Collaborates with brand, field and communications team and manages consistency of on-brand strategy and messaging across these teams. Develops strategic integrated marketing briefs, programs and creative assets that align with brand strategy, goals, and KPIs. Works collaboratively with integrated marketing, media and communications teams to develop the marketing plans and roadmap, including partnerships, influencer, PR, content, thought leadership, client and field stories. Leads execution and activation of appropriate partnerships, influencers and content, and drives significant engagement across the Northwestern Mutual enterprise and with consumers; drives earned media. Participates in agency, creative and PR meetings, coordinates scheduling and prepares initial agendas, documents and presentations to support brainstorms and briefings specific to these markets. Serves as the primary internal point of contact for all market-specific project details, approvals, schedules and marketing calendar; anticipates and resolves problems associated with projects. Provides day-to-day counsel throughout the enterprise (field and internal audience) to optimize brand impact and alignment. Regularly prepares reports and presentations specific to consumer marketing plan; support development and mining of insights, trends and client experience, as well as executive and partner presentations. Manages in-market performance real time and measures KPIs, including development of post program analysis. Tracks and maintains project budgets and billing. Bring Your Best! What this role needs: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, advertising, communications or related field. 10+ years of experience in consumer advertising and/or marketing field, including brand strategy and D&I marketing. Client/corporate marketing experience preferred. A proven self-starter who's able to self-direct the management and execution of programs from inception through completion - on brand, on time, on budget. A strong communicator both in written and verbal form. A strong collaborator, who is comfortable working with various levels and functions across an enterprise, including upper management. Must be able to influence without authority, requiring strong relationship skills across various department disciplines. Brings a consumer lens to work every day. A "trend seeker" who's able to contribute to discussions on consumer insights, cultural trends, etc. - must be able to apply insights to persuasive, inspiring creative briefs integrated strategies. Strong foundation of branding best practices, strategies and insights. A creative thinker who can apply diverse thought and experiences to optimize brand results.
