GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manages and oversees all activities related to domestic and international shipments for MEA & MNA. Responsible for freight provider RFPs and contract negotiations. Develops logistics policies & procedures to ensure that internal and customer needs are met. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the department to support the functional infrastructure. Manages freight audit & payment and is responsible for import and export Trade Compliance. Responsible for the Logistics Team in West Bend.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Logistics

Conduct regular freight provider RFPs and coordinate contract negotiations; Maximize buying power to reduce cost while increasing value.
Develop and implement Logistics policies & procedures for the business.
Manage the supplier inbound freight routing guide.
Supervise freight audit & payment of all freight invoices; manage the third party relationship with Data2Logistics.
Establish and maintain freight recovery for outbound shipments; supervise tracing, claims, and quote freight rates.
Calculate monthly freight accrual for all modes and report to Finance; set annual freight standards.
Develop and manage the TMS (Transportation Management System) for inbound and outbound freight.
Support the daily activities of the site Logistics Coordinators & Analysts.
Manage the freight provider relationship for LTL, parcel, TL, Air & Ocean freight; resolve problems that arise
Establish KPIs and objectives for the Logistics Team.
Follow the freight industry and report regular updates to the business.

Trade Compliance

Manage all Trade Compliance policies & procedures for import & export shipments to comply with U.S. and international laws.
Identify risks, prevent and mitigate Customs penalties; respond to US Customs requests in collaboration with Legal and outside counsel.
Certify annual free trade agreements when possible.
Manage Customs Brokerage and product classifications with third parties.
Maintain the product classification database and update IFS.

EXPERIENCE:

Five to Ten years of Logistics & Trade Compliance experience in domestic and international Logistics.
Experience in carrier contracts, NDAs and other legal documents.
TMS experience.
Outstanding analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational abilities.
Negotiation skillfully to arrive at agreements that benefit Manitou.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage direct reports.

EXPERTISE:

In-depth knowledge of an OEM manufacturer a plus.
Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheets, BI reporting tools, and Google.
Developed KPI metrics.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:

Internal: Marketing, Sales, Sales Support, Finance, Service and Solutions.
External: Shipping and Freight Vendors.

LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

This position is located in West Bend, WI.
Travel up to 10%
