Position Summary
Under the direction of Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing
Officer, the Director, Market Insights & Operations (MIO) is
responsible for developing and implementing market research,
business analytics and sales operations, and lead the Blood
Operations Planning team. The Director, MIO implements overall
market research, business analytics, and sales operations plan to
leverage insights to drive growth across the entire organization.
Responsible for identifying market opportunities and current gaps
in order to develop and implement plans around marketing and sales
operations. Leads the Blood Operations Planning team to ensure
effective and efficient resource allocation to maximize blood
collections. Accountable for providing leadership and direction to
the MIO team and Blood Operations Planning team.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the MIO and Blood
Operations Planning teams, including building team structure, and
hiring, developing, and coaching talent
- Lead and support market research plans for entire organization.
Provide customer insights to marketing teams through development,
execution and integration of market research and other data that
will help drive key strategic and tactical decisions
- Provide analytics and insights to internal team based on key
demographics / market trends, and identify implications in the near
and far term
- Provide short/mid-term forecast, guide annual operational goal
setting, and create the foundations for long range plan
- Lead development of scorecards and metrics around strategic
initiatives, and assist in calculating ROI for marketing
tactics
- Responsible for developing field team sizing, territory
mapping, and field team compensation calculations
- Drive data strategy across organization to establish data
governance, aligned systems and automation to enable higher level
insights on donor retention, collections, operational capacity and
efficiency, and growth opportunities
- Oversee insights and improvement areas based on an integrated
NPS program (Net Promoter Score)
- Support blood resource sharing (e.g., imports/exports) strategy
and partner management to ensure stable blood supply and inventory
levels
- Develop and manage organizations customer relationship
management (CRM) systems including HemaConnect and Salesforce, and
oversee analyses related to donor recruitment and sales team
effectiveness
- Oversee design and execution of Blood operations calendar
planning and resource assignment process
- Lead team to connect and interrelate disparate ideas/data
points such as: logistics associated with staffing productivity,
equipment, travel time, blood drive hours of operations, cost per
unit collected
- Enable team to work independently as appropriate, recognizing
when to involve key stakeholders and/or supervisor to minimize
"lost opportunities" in managing customer service and budget
impacts
- Develop analytical tools that provide predictive outlook, and
assist team in timely decision making and communication
- Direct analyses related to Donor Services staff scheduling
optimization, resourcing across Versiti, Mobile and Center
capacity, and process improvement
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are
reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job

Qualifications

Education
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree MBA preferred
Experience
- 7-9 years experience in market research, analytics, and/or
customer operations required
- 4-6 years experience in team management, including building,
developing and coaching talent required
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- 4-6 years experience in Business/Corporate development function
and/or finance role supporting partnering activities required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills to include effective verbal and
written communication, problem solving, decision making, conflict
resolution, and the ability to influence others across all levels
of the organization required
- Highly developed analytical, critical thinking, deductive
reasoning and problem solving skills, with the ability to
effectively communicate and interpret technical financial
information required
- Ability to understand and interpret complex data from disparate
sources, and aligning them to extract insights required
- Proven track record in developing and coaching leaders
required
- Sales operations processes and systems to lead team through
managing incentive processes required
- B2B and B2C business performance assessment, understand drivers
and barriers, help business implement changes required
- Possess high ethical standards and values, personal integrity,
and honesty required
- Ability to travel to include out-of-region and overnight
(approximately 10% of time) required
