Job Description:
Major Responsibilities:
- Directs three-year cycle of hospital specific community health
needs assessment processes, priority setting, program development,
implementation planning and progress reporting for multiple
AdvocateAurora hospitals.
- Provides executive leadership of multiple hospital Community
Health Councils including recruitment, retention and education of
community experts to enable Council members to understand data,
select CHNA priorities and approve reasonable community health
improvement plans.
- Directs multiple hospital site community benefits tracking and
reporting in compliance.
- Direct and participate in building relationships with strategic
community partners to improve health within PSA/Region.
- Directs community health at multiple hospital sites in
partnership with strategic internal and external partners to ensure
that identified priority health needs are addressed with a focus on
reducing health inequity.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which
include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions,
staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes,
resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations,
and overall employee morale.
- Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and
controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organizations
Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and
the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies,
regulations and laws applicable to the organization.
- Responsible for taking an active leadership role in non-profit
or community based organizations by providing community service
hours or serving in professional organizations. Also, encourages
team members to participate in these same community activities.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelors in Public Health, Public Administration, Community
Planning or Health Administration; Masters preferred 7 years
experience; Public Health, Not for profit management, Social
Service, Community Planning, Knowledge of public health data, data
analyses, program development, logic models, outcome metric
development and measurement, management of teams, knowledge of
community partners and how to develop coalitions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Proven ability to develop effective broad relationships with
public health partners Proven ability to secure and analyze primary
and secondary health data, determine health priorities and
established evidence-based, measurable programs to address
community health needs Proven ability to deliver high-quality
reports and communication mechanisms to influence key stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to provide counsel and support to senior-level
executives. In-depth awareness of health care trends and industry
issues-specifically community health mandates and strategies.
Significant experience working in coalitions with multiple
partners. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage projects
within a complex community context.
Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to
weather and road conditions. Operates all equipment necessary to
perform the job. Exposed to a normal office environment. This job
