Job Description:
The Strategic Project Manager supports enterprise-wide strategic
planning and implementation, focused on maintaining project
progress creating long-term organizational impacts.
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
This role supports enterprise-wide strategic planning and
implementation, focused on maintaining project progress creating
long-term organizational impacts. This role will be responsible for
leveraging strong business knowledge, clear and informative
communication, and industry standard project management skills to
develop and communicate project objectives with cross-functional
teams, manage strategic relationships, and facilitate robust
discussions and workshops. This role will work closely with the
Director of Strategy Implementation, the Financial Planning &
Analysis team, and senior leaders from across the organization.
Typically works on a portfolio of projects related to long term
strategy and objectives
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Build productive project teams that foster engagement in each
project. Provide positive leadership and effective coaching methods
which include building rapport with team members, creating an
environment of trust, providing and asking for feedback in a timely
manner and listening and encouraging team members to learn and
grow.
2. Develops and implements effective project plans utilizing
current project management tools and practices with the objective
to stay on time, within scope, and meet expectations. The project
manager shall work with the project teams and owners to define and
prioritize project work, estimate resource needs, assess risks,
define roles and responsibilities, track and report on critical
milestones, and ensure measurable project effectiveness. Provides
status reporting to the project team, Director Strategy
Implementation, and the Executive Team.
3. Partner as a strategic advisor to business unit and functional
leaders on a wide variety of strategic initiatives. Have strong
business acumen to understand the company, its business units, and
basic business concepts.
4. Adhere to project quality control policies and practices to
drive high performance in project deliverables.
5. Facilitate open communication among project teams, key
stakeholders, and senior leadership; identify and articulate issues
and negotiate resolution with a sense of urgency and high business
acumen.
6. Identify, assess, and minimize risk through the project
lifecycle. Effectively manage any project roadblocks or
impediments. Resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
7. Technical Skill: Advanced knowledge of professional principles
and skills. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and
procedures of particular field of specialization. Responsible for
developing and communicating project objectives with
cross-functional teams, managing strategic relationships, and
facilitating robust discussions and workshops.
8. Project and Change Management: May serve as a team member, or
subject matter expert, for formal or department projects.
Contributes ideas and helps develop solutions, while balancing
demands of project work and routine job responsibilities. Engages
effectively in change affecting her/him, communicating
appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill
building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
9. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently.
Periodic review of work by manager or direct customer. Researches,
analyzes, and evaluates situations and reports on findings. Solves
advanced problems.
10. Leading and Developing Talent: May partner with coworkers to
advance their development.
11. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement
initiatives. Aware of Goodwill's community partner organizational
and participates in volunteer opportunities as pertains to role and
interest. Participates in industry/knowledge groups.
12. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as
assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency,
Bachelor degree preferred, and a minimum of 5 years'
experience.
2. Project Management Certification strongly desired, Project
Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
3. Demonstrated experience in project management processes and
methodologies, including knowledge of PMI standards. Individual
must maintain current knowledge of industry standards and best
practices
4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
5. Experience with project and resource budgeting and
estimating.
6. Strong computer skills including MS Office and ability to learn
new systems quickly.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
Job requires the following: remain stationary for sustained periods
of time; ability to move about to accomplish tasks; must be able to
operate a computer or similar technology, which typically involves
substantial motions of wrist, hands and/or fingers; visual acuity
to perform activities such as preparing data, operating equipment
or review thoroughness of work; ability to communicate with others
and exchange information. Travel to various worksites. Reasonable
