Position: Director, Business Development - Foodservice Equipment
(Remote) OVERVIEW: A global food service equipment manufacturer is
looking for a Business Development Director to launch the company's
business development program. The Director, Business Development,
will start the program to identify new business opportunities and
promote the company's products and services to prospective
customers nationwide (i.e. convenience stores, restaurants, hotels,
healthcare, school, hospitality, etc.). The line of products
includes various heating and cooling food storage, displays,
shelves, and vending machine units. The company has been
successfully operating and dominating a food storage scene at a
major national convenience store chain with its distinctive
high-quality products. This role will play a key part in the
organization to drive top-line business revenue growth and expand
the company and its brand presence through new customer
acquisition. The Business Development Director acts as the first
line of communication with a prospect by executing hands-on sales
activities such as identifying and developing leads, starting and
cultivating strong relationships with new customers, promoting
products and services with effective presentations and quotations,
and closing the sales. The successful candidate is a self-motivated
and creative-minded sales personnel with food service equipment
product knowledge and experiences to plan and execute hands-on
sales activities, exceed expectations, and create positive results
independently. The Business Development Director is, working
closely and directly with President and CEO, also expected to
cultivate an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company
by influencing the team of Sales Managers/Account Executives who
are supporting existing clients and help the company to develop
strategies designed to increase revenue and acquire new business
opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT
NOT ARE LIMITED TO: --- Lead and manage the company's sales efforts
to develop business with new customers and drive revenue growth.
--- Research and identify new business opportunities and
prospective customers for the company's food service equipment. ---
Develop a list of proactive prospect customers that are being
reached out to by cold calling, emailing, and networking to
represent the company. --- Schedule meetings and calls with
prospective customers to obtain opportunities to promote products
and services. --- Identify potential customers' current and future
needs and promote appropriate products and services aligned with
the customers' needs. --- Perform demonstration and provide
consultative selling approach to propose solutions with custom
proposals and quotations. --- Build long-term, trusting
relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales
opportunities. --- Proactively seek new business opportunities in
the market. --- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested
prospects and follow up periodically to pursue new sales and upsell
opportunities. --- Establish best practices for refining the
company's lead-generation playbook. --- Plan and conduct effective
marketing and promotional activities to increase brand and product
awareness. --- Work closely to collaborate with sales, marketing,
customer service, accounting, logistics, engineering and customer
relationship management teams. --- Respond to Requests for
Proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers. --- Track
new markets and emerging trends, new products and services, and
assist the company in the development of new sales and marketing
strategies. --- Engage in contract negotiation, order fulfillment,
and warranty repairs of products. --- Identify potential
partnership opportunities for the business to expand its scope
and/or improve its business processes. --- Maintain records on
customer information, sales, and sales and marketing activities on
the company database. --- Report to the President with weekly,
monthly, and quarterly results to help achieve the company's goal
of lead generation and market share growth. --- Participate in
trade shows and conventions to stay informed on the industry and
represent the company to promote the company's products and
services. --- Stay current on product knowledge, applications, and
trends within the food service equipment industry/segment. ---
Cultivate an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company
and across all teams and business functions. --- Other duties
assigned by the company's top management (President, CEO).
QUALIFICATIONS: --- Bachelor's degree in business administration,
marketing, or a related field. A Master of Business Administration
degree is a plus. --- 5+ years of business development and sales
experience with a proven track record of success in new account
generation with the foodservice equipment products. --- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. --- Proficient in Microsoft
Office suites and CRM platforms. --- Strong foundation of
negotiation and conflict resolution skills. --- Ability to provide
clear and effective proposals and quotations for customers. ---
Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed
goals.
