Job Overview
Komatsu has a NEW opportunity for a Sr. Tax Manager - Transfer Pricing within the Corporate Tax team. Major responsibilities will including building sustainable transfer pricing policies and workstreams for the business to actively measure compliance with governing authorities. The Sr. Tax Manager, Transfer Pricing will own several transfer pricing streams within the Company including, the APA process, annual documentation, implementation of OECD Pillar 1 and 2, and support of the annual calculations for Komatsu Ltd. (Japan) transfer pricing guidance. Key deliverables of the position will be the establishment and maintenance of an operational transfer pricing function within the KAC business, including data management and measurement, routine reporting and regular interaction with the businesses to determine compliance. This is a hybrid role based out of Komatsu's new headquarters in the Milwaukee Harbor District.
Key Job Responsibilities
Operational Transfer Pricing:

  • Partner with business to begin process of testing effectiveness of transfer pricing policies on a routine basis.
    • Leading discussions with Pricing and Sourcing to make certain appropriate data is captured and evaluated.
    • Develop method to consistently monitor intercompany pricing and measure results to adhere to standard guidance from parent company.
    • Standardize the intercompany pricing methodology across the business to provide similar measurements for all business segments.
    • Seek to make transfer pricing a seamless part of ongoing operations.
      • Work to integrate and automate data collection activities to minimize impact to business.
      • Empower business leaders to evaluate contracts and requests for adherence to transfer pricing norms. Advanced Pricing Agreement and Routine Documentation Management:
        • Own the APA process for all currently negotiated agreements (currently 3 in the US).
        • Maintain routine data for mid-year and annual measurement per each agreement. Seek to find ways to automate data collection in support of models and/or move the reporting responsibility into the tax function.
        • Drive relationship with other internal transfer pricing personnel at headquarters and other subsidiaries to be business focused.
        • Test material intercompany sales streams at least every six months to measure margins subject to routine documentation.
        • Calculate any needed adjustments and work with accounting function to get profit to appropriate entity. OECD Pillar 2/CBCR Compliance
          • Lead the local efforts in compliance with Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 implementation.
          • Work with team currently responding to CbCR and other Pillar 2 requests to build out the function and encourage consistency across the organization.
          • Educate data providers needed information and ultimate results derived from the data.
          • Build effective relationship with headquartered employees responsible for global CbCR reporting and OECD compliance to improve reporting consistency and timeliness for their internal deadlines. Qualifications/Requirements
            • 8 or more years of experience with economic analysis, data management and transfer pricing for multi-national corporations
            • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics. Advanced degree in relevant field preferred.
            • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external clients
            • Demonstrated willingness to drive adoption of software tools to reduce manual workloads and automate data collection and analysis
            • Familiarity with SAP ERP platform, BPC consolidation software, other national consolidation tools and general Microsoft Office tools
