Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:Provides direct-service and supervision to
the participants of the MCDRC. These participants include referrals
from the Community Reintegration Center, Milwaukee County Judiciary
and the Division of Community Corrections. Essential Functions:
- Conducts risk and need assessments on newly referred
participants utilizing the LSI-R and LS-CMI or the required
assessment tool according to the funding source (COMPAS).
- Conducts the initial intake and determines supervision level
and programming schedule for each participant utilizing the
appropriate assessment information. Ensures the service plan is
documented in the database and hard file.
- Ensure all intake documentation is complete, including
developing the participant hard files and securing signed releases
of information.
- Monitors participant activity and progress, and properly
documents all activity in the database and hard files.
- Collaborates with all providers at the DRC and monitors
progress in programming required for each participant. Meets with
each service provider at a minimum of bi-weekly, and prepares a
corresponding staffing report for the database and hard file.
- Prepare staffing reports on each participant, as required, and
attends the all-staff DRC meetings according to the determined
schedule.
- Prepares progress reports to the Court and/or referring
authority as required.
- Refers participants to community based services as needed, and
monitors progress with referrals.
- Prepares transition plans for participants in order to ensure
successful re-entry to the community.
- Monitors all ordered obligations and report all violations in a
timely manner to the Court or referring authority.
- Communicates on behalf of the DRC participants with defense
attorneys, district attorney, Judges and other Court officials,
Probation and Parole, etc.
- Utilize evidence-based practices with participants including
attendance of all required training and attainment of all necessary
competencies to carry out position responsibilities.
- Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the
responsibilities of the position.
- Provide coverage for the other Case Managers as required. Job
Qualifications:Minimum of an associate's degree with a bachelor's
degree preferred from an accredited college or university. Prior
case management experience with the offenders involved with the
criminal justice system preferred; Familiarity with evidence-based
practices with Participants such as Motivational Interviewing,
Motivational Incentives, and criminogenic risk and need assessments
a plus. Possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and insured
auto; must pass criminal background check and drug test prior to
official hire. Other Job Information (if applicable):Work
Relationship and Scope: Reports directly to the Program Director of
the DRC. Has contact with a wide variety of individuals to include
criminal defendants, attorneys, judges, courthouse personnel,
sheriff department, jail staff, Probation and Parole agents,
treatment providers, other criminal justice agencies and community
providers, other WCS staff, and family members of Participants.

agency values and mission. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the Wisconsin Criminal Justice System; knowledge of
local treatment programs to include SUD, mental health, and
domestic violence; knowledge of community resources to include
housing, education, public transportation; knowledge of CCAP;
strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond
appropriately in crisis situations; sensitivity toward cultural,
ethnic, an disability issues; good organizational, computer and
typing skills; knowledge of drug testing protocols, including the
ability to read and understand drug testing results; training
and/or experience in motivational interviewing, trauma informed
care and motivational incentives; experience with risk and need
assessment instruments; and knowledge of the LSI-R, LS-CMI and
COMPAS preferred. Working Conditions: Most of the work will take
place at the Day Report Center 1036 N. 10th Street, in Milwaukee
County. The position will require travel within Milwaukee County to
the Milwaukee County Community Reintegration Center, and other
purposes as needed or required. Schedule varies with business
needs, but staff are generally scheduled between the hours of 8:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Physical Demands: Duties
require good hearing and the ability to communicate verbally; hand
and finger dexterity for data entry and typing; involves some
