We Are Hiring: Surgical Technologist - ProHealth Care Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital - .6 FTE

Schedule: The hours are flexible 0630-1500/0630-1700. Scheduled days of week will vary based on department needs within a 6 week schedule period. days/ on call required

At Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital we perform procedures including General/vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, GYN, dental, & ENT. Our 8 operating rooms, renovated in May 2020, include new system integration for more efficient flow during surgery.

As an Orthopedic Center of Excellence we provide an array of orthopedic procedures including same day discharge procedures for total joints. We utilize the Depuy VELYS Robot to complete Robotic assisted total knee replacements.

Job Summary

Function as members of the surgical team in the role of the scrub person. Allied health professionals who work under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. Ensure the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile technique and aseptic technique and combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.

What You Will Do:

Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person. Works under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. They ensure that the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Facilitates a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures

What You Will Need:

• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist program CST preferred or equivalent military training program.
• Previous experience working as a Surgical Tech preferred though not required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire
