Job Title: Surgical Assistant Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, Surgical Assistant from a recognized certifying body Must-Have: - Experience with neuro/ENT spine surgeries including laminectomies, ALIFs, fusions, and discectomies - Experience with cranial surgeries such as tumor removal and VP shunts - Familiarity with basic ENT procedures like tonsillectomies and tympanoplasties - Proficiency with orthopedic procedures, including fractures, total knees, and arthroscopy - Knowledge of various surgical equipment and positioning tools Description: This position is for a Surgical Assistant in a fast-paced environment. The role involves assisting in both neuro and orthopedic surgical cases. Experience with specialized neuro and ENT equipment is required. The pace is variable with potential variable start times in the morning. Surgical scrubs are provided. You will work closely with a team of charge nurses, leads, and supervisors. Flexibility to accommodate varying surgical procedures and schedules is essential. You may be required to handle calls and respond within a specified time frame. Additional responsibilities may include cross-training in other specialties. Collaboration with various medical staff is expected to ensure patient care. This position demands a proactive approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
