ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • Work 12-hour variable day/night shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • 48 guaranteed hours per week over 13-week contract • Every other weekend and every other holiday required • Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units • Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum call back • Patient ratio of 4:1 • Care for patients with heavy telemetry monitoring, stable weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleeds, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injuries, and strokes • Manage primary patients and insulin drips • Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility • 2 years experience required with stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience mandatory • ICU experience and Trauma Level II experience preferred • Ventilator/trach experience required • At least 1 prior travel experience required • Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS • EPIC charting experience preferred • Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred • Any color scrubs permitted • Fast-paced environment requiring independent work and timely task completion Facility: This healthcare organization operates a 36-bed medical surgical intermediate care unit specializing in complex patient care.
