Job Description:
Southern Health Partners is seeking a dedicated Certified
Medication Aide to join our team, providing compassionate and
proficient medication management in our correctional facility
environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being and
proper medical treatment of individuals under our care through
accurate medication administration and patient monitoring,
complying with all regulatory standards and our commitment to
innovative healthcare practices. By joining our team, you will play
a key role in enhancing the quality of care and optimizing the
health outcomes of our patients, while maintaining safety and
confidentiality. Administer prescribed medications to patients and
maintain related medical records under supervision. Verify patient
information and medication instructions, ensuring all treatments
are accurately documented in compliance with facility policies and
legal requirements. Monitor patient health and side effects of
medications, reporting any concerns to supervisory medical staff
immediately. Assist in the control and secure storage of
medications, and inventory checks. Educate patients about
appropriate medication taking strategies and potential side
effects. Participate in training and development sessions to stay
current with best practices in medication administration and
corrections healthcare. Proficient in pharmacology and proper
medication administration techniques. Strong observational skills
to detect changes in patient conditions. Effective communication
skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain
professionalism and calm in challenging situations. Attention to
detail for accurate medication distribution and record keeping.
Valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification. First Aid and
CPR certified preferred.
