Job Description:

SSM Health is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. Responsibilities include ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring necessary equipment is available and functioning. Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies. Help in applying dressings and preparing patients for surgery. Maintain a sterile environment to prevent contamination. Assist in the care and handling of specimens taken for laboratory analysis. Follow protocols for counting sponges, needles, and instruments before and after the procedure. Knowledge of sterile techniques and operating room procedures. Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina. Strong communication skills for interacting with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
