Active RN license, BLS & ACLS required; 1 years recent bedside experience preferred—apply now. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: East Chicago, IN 46312 (Lake Michigan shoreline / Chicago area)/n - Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) – LTAC nurse role/n - Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse/n - Start Date: ASAP/n - Duration: 13 weeks/n - Shift: 12-hour day shifts (3 shifts per week) — Day Shift RN/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1840 - $1940/n /n/nRequired Qualifications / RN Requirements/n /n - Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license/n - BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required prior to first shift/n - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification – required prior to first shift/n - Minimum of 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)/n - Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills—experience in LTAC or complex care preferred/n /n/nLTAC Nurse Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality nursing care following individualized care plans and LTAC clinical protocols/n - Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees/n - Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and functional needs/n - Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans based on assessment data and interdisciplinary input/n - Administer medications and IV therapies according to established protocols—IV therapy experience preferred/n - Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, utilizing SBAR for effective communication/n - Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate and evaluate rehabilitation and LTAC goals/n - Educate and counsel patients and families, providing discharge instructions and referrals as needed/n - Document all care provided in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner/n - Demonstrate competency in emergency response, including CPR and Code Blue situations/n - Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies and procedures/n - Engage in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities/n /n/nWhy Join Our LTAC Nursing Team/n /n - Meaningful LTAC nursing role caring for medically complex patients/n - Work in a supportive, collaborative team focused on patient-centered care and rehab goals/n - Opportunity to live near Lake Michigan with easy access to Chicago-area amenities/n - Great travel nurse experience to expand your clinical skills and professional network/n /n/n Experience the rewards of working in a close-knit LTAC community while making a difference for patients who need your expertise.
