Job Description Job Description XV POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible
for developing, maintaining, and administering the safety training
programs for all construction site and field service work performed
by our Dairy and Grain divisions. Develops and delivers training to
personnel using a variety of tools and methods. Maintains training
and certification records. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop,
expand, update, and/or implement training programs by working with
division management, project managers, engineers, technical service
leads, crew foreman, and other safety personnel to determine
training needs; may research alternative training options specific
to the industry related work performed and in conjunction with
regulatory requirements; negotiate with vendors as needed. Deliver
safety training in a variety of settings including classroom and
on-the-spot training including programs such as forklift and crane
certification; may solicit and coordinate training support from
outside professionals or when appropriate; use resources to
adequately determine training relevance, audience, and duration of
training. Conduct periodic field safety checks to identify
potential site safety issues; provide updated training when
appropriate. Establish a system and criteria for documenting and
tracking training records and databases in accordance with best
practices and governmental regulations; work with human resources
to ensure training records are adequately maintained. Ensure
adequate accident reporting of injuries for division employees;
review accident sites, complete accident reports, gather witness
statements, etc. for presentation to human resources; work with
human resources to monitor health status of injured workers,
facilitate employees’ return to work, and ensure proper care within
work restrictions, if any. Promote a safety-minded culture by
continuously reinforcing company polices and expectations regarding
safety at all times; advise and support management, crew foreman,
and lead personnel when appropriate. Represent the grain and dairy
divisions of the company as needed on all safety related concerns;
may assist other divisions of the company as a resource on issues
relevant to safety at times. Complete special projects; perform all
other duties as assigned. Maintain a professional appearance at all
times; QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or G.E.D., plus 2 years
of higher education or equivalent work experience; knowledge of
OSHA and ANSI requirements; minimum of 2 years practical experience
in a safety position, preferably in a construction or heavy
equipment installation jobsite setting; effective oral and written
communication and presentation skills are essential; the ability to
apply principles of adult learning to training development and
delivery is helpful; above average PC skills to include Microsoft
Office software, such as Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook is
necessary; a valid drivers’ license with a driving record in good
standing is required; ability to speak fluent English and Spanish
is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described

work from scaffolding or raised platforms, man lifts, etc. The job
may require work performed in tight or enclosed areas. The employee
must be able to hear and communicate verbally. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing
the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally and
momentarily work near moving mechanical parts, may occasionally be
exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and is exposed to outside
weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is
usually low to moderate.
