Department OverviewMcDonald's, one of the most recognized brands in the world, is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to be responsible for the development of our in-store technology as part of Commercial Product & Platform organization. The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants optimally.The Software Engineer I role collaborates with the Sr Engineering Manager, Chapter Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of the McDonald's restaurant software. Restaurant Technology software includes application user interface, API layer software, data management, and data communication with external systems. The software needs to meet stringent reliability and performance requirements as well as the needs of our customers.The biggest area of increase in our spending has been in technology, which is helping to drive our growth. We're looking at how to use technology to improve the customer experience and build new customer experiences. We're also exploring technologies that can help us reduce or eliminate repetitive tasks and make employees' jobs more interesting and rewarding. With all the new projects and initiatives, it is an exciting time to be on the team that is helping to make a Better McDonald's!Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Working in a software development team for restaurant software applications that support the design and development for new functionality.
• Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations, and actively participating in and implementing the scrum process.
• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions for web applications.
• Implement software engineering strategies to maintain a high standard of quality and develop innovative software solutions to improve service performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Providing frequent progress updates to the direct manager and other partners.QualificationsBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar engineering discipline or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience with object oriented programming experience such as C#, Java, or C++
  • Demonstrated skills in improving operational precision through standard methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of software development tools such as GIT, GitHub, JIRA, Visual Studio or equivalent, etc.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and working effectively in a remote environment.
  • Highly quantitative with excellent judgment and passion for building a phenomenal customer experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, takes initiative, and a self-starter.Preferred Qualifications
