LRS Consulting Services is seeking an Azure Engineer for a remote direct hire opportunity with our financial client in the west suburbs of Chicago, IL! The Azure Engineer will: Manage the administration, configuration, and optimization of the organization’s Azure cloud infrastructure. Manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Entra ID (Azure AD), Office 365/Microsoft 365, and related cloud services. Oversee identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and security policies. Maintain high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and performance tuning across cloud services. Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Support and resolve escalated cloud-related service tickets, acting as a subject matter expert. Collaborate with internal teams on cloud strategy, potential future automation, and modernization initiatives. Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for cloud services. Research, evaluate, and build out new Azure capabilities, such as IaaS, PaaS, &/or IaC for future improvements. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: 5 years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, with 3 years focused on cloud administration (esp., Azure) Expertise with Office 365/Microsoft 365 administration. Expertise with most/all of the following: Entra ID (Azure AD), IAM/RBAC, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and security best practices. Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, &/or IaC strongly preferred. Familiarity with Azure networking (VNETs, NSGs, VPNs, network peering). Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration. Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and governance tools. AZ-900 and AZ-104 certifications preferred. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal).
