What's the role? We are seeking a passionate BDD expert who can
drive the BDD transformation activities within the Enterprise Test
Engineering group. The BDD Consultant role reports to the Asst.
Director of Enterprise Quality (EQ). The BDD Consultant will assist
in the setting up of the BDD framework and standards, educating and
mentoring teams on BDD implementation, including providing
technical & process guidance. This role will also be responsible
for assisting the stakeholders with correcting the identified
non-compliance issues to ensure that we maintain high quality and
high availability production system and services. The BDD
Consultant will work with multiple scrum teams as the BDD SME
(Subject Matter Expert), will develop and strengthen
internal/external relationships, establish cross-team partnerships
to deliver on quality goals, maintain business continuity, and
align enterprise releases to IT business objectives. Your
high-level milestones for the first year are the following: Within
three months, analyze the current enterprise landscape, process and
maturity level and prepare BDD implementation strategy,
methodology, framework and coaching content. Within six months,
lead and facilitate multiple BDD workshops/trainings across the
enterprise and provide technical and process guidance to the scrum
teams implementing BDD. Groom EQ team members (peers) to be his/her
partners in the BDD roll-out initiative. Within one year,
independently lead BDD roll-out efforts under the guidance of Asst.
Director of Enterprise Quality. Bring Your Best! What this role
needs: Deep knowledge and understanding of Agile concepts including
Scrum and Kanban. Experience of reviewing current test processes,
test artifacts, reports, tools and metrics to identify gaps from
the perspective of a mature BDD implementation. Ability to coach,
influence and build relationships with scrum teams to promote
adoption of BDD process, tools and best practices. Ensure that
scrum teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices
of enterprise BDD strategy and standards. Strong communication and
influencing skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure the
enterprise BDD vision is understood and implemented correctly.
Should be hands-on technically. Provide technical direction and
support to multiple teams, increasing their productivity and
effectiveness by sharing deep knowledge and expertise in BDD.
Assist EQ team in conducting BDD compliance assessments/checks for
various IT development projects, routine maintenance releases etc.
Assist teams with correcting the identified non-compliance issues
to ensure that we maintain high quality and high availability
production system and services by providing necessary guidance and
coaching. Utilize compliance and quality metrics to drive quality
standard improvements as part of the regular continuous improvement
efforts. Participate in interviews, onboarding and training
activities as required. Awareness of Industry trends and solutions
around BDD. Focus on continuous improvements including usage of
appropriate tools, techniques etc. Desired Skills: The ideal
skillset we are looking for: Minimum of 10 years of experience in
Software Testing/Quality Assurance. Excellent knowledge of Software
Testing concepts, Test Automation and Test Process Improvements in
Agile/DevOps setting. Must have at least 2-3 years of hands-on
experience in BDD. Experienced in BDD frameworks like Cucumber
(preferred) / SpecFlow. Test automation experience using Cucumber
(Selenium Webdriver Integration) and Gherkin scripting language.
Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience in developing automated
scripts using Selenium (Java), Appium, TestNG, JUnit etc.
Experience in designing and customizing test automation frameworks.
Proven track record of mentoring/coaching multiple scrum teams on
BDD (focus on Technology/Tools, Process, Best practices etc.)
Experience in CI/CD/Continuous testing setup using toolset like
Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven, Git/GitHub, Subversion etc. Knowledge of
Test management tools like Jira/X-Ray/AgileCraft Excellent Written
and verbal communication skills. Collaborative team player. Proven
