Job Description:

This is a field-based position, assigned to specified target accounts. The CCS will partner with the Customer Care Organization, field Medical Team and collaborate with other CCS team members across the country to identify and establish best practices for providing patient access to La Jolla Pharmaceutical's product, GIAPREZA. The CCS will be responsible for delivering approved disease state education, building strategic relationships within the critical care community and delivery of approved GIAPREZA information to critical care nursing, pharmacy, and physician medical teams within the hospital and understanding the formulary process, P&T committee process, and decision-making process for the addition of new therapies at each institution. This territory covers the state of Wisconsin.----Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngage formulary and administrative business partners within the hospital to pursue formulary acceptance/approval and appropriate usage of GIAPREZA.Develop and maintain strong and long-term relationships with clinical personnel, nurse leadership, key nursing organizations and associations, patient advocacy personnel, ICU physicians, Critical Care Pharmacists, and other health care providers (collectively "HCP") within the institutions or geographic area served.Maintain an open dialogue with key opinion leaders/ICU intensivists/nursing leaders/nursing colleagues/pharmacy colleagues and other health care personnel and communicate field issues, customer insights, changing practice patterns or personnel to internal La Jolla colleagues and leadership.Deliver approved disease state and product presentations to nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and other health care stakeholders in the hospital setting.Work cross functionally to identify customer needs. Collaborate and communicate effectively with medical field partners (MSL Field Team) and the HSAD Team member within the geographic region to deliver coordinated, efficient and effective approved product and disease state education.Collaborate with both state and local professional organizations.Ensure approved product and disease state information is used in an appropriate and compliant manner.Identify and assist in development of HCP advocates.Develop and execute specified target accounts based on a strategic and tactical plan that meets both HCP needs and company expectations focused on approved product and disease state education.Identify, develop and execute a strategic territory business plan which focuses on appropriate utilization and appropriate patient identification for GIAPREZA.Perform all administrative functions of the position in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with all La Jolla policies and procedures.Deliver approved disease state education and directs appropriate questions to the Medical Information team.Other duties as assigned.--QualificationsEducation and experience: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree, RN or other clinical degree or experience preferred. CCRN certification a plus. ICU, ED, Anesthesia, Pulmonary/Critical Care, CV Surgery experience preferred.Previous hospital based pharmaceutical experience is required.Hospital critical care launch experience and experience with infuse medications is mandatory.Strong clinical expertise and ability to articulate and communicate complex information.Specialized knowledge:Intensive care, Emergency care or Clinical response team experience preferred.Presentation skills and experience necessary.Demonstrated ability to interpret complex clinical information and an ability to work in cross functional teams, collaborate, develop, implement, and execute strategic and tactical plans.Demonstrated understanding of hospital formulary process and requirements and ability to navigate a hospital system.Demonstrate a working knowledge of FDA OIG, HIPPA regulations and approved guidelines for pharmaceutical promotion and adverse event/drug reaction reporting, medical education guidance and compliance policies.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, standard programs (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Outlook for email communication.Other skills and abilities: Strong interpersonal and presentation skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated, reliable and ability to function independently within a teamAble to address change and ambiguity with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
