This role will focus on selling the various packaging and commercial products (including paper goods and food service disposables) offered by North American to Industrial and Business establishmentsResponsibilities Include:Develop base portfolio of customers.* For existing customers, increase sales volume by providing professional sales support while identifying new opportunities and introducing new products.* Activities include developing and executing a call plan, performing business reviews, maintaining a full sales hopper, monthly erosion analysis, price negotiation, new product introduction and execution of regional and national programs.* Identifying, developing and securing new customers.* Developing target accounts and growth strategies, specific needs analysis and new product introductions.* Support and execution of North American directed marketing and operational initiatives.* Support selected vendor programs, make calls with vendors, follow corporate direction on vendor contact and cost negotiation, support marketing initiatives and support on-line ordering.Territory Administration* Effective administration of policies and procedures and required documentation.* Activities include scanning and emailing quotes, building quotes, credit, inventory, pricing file maintenance, reporting to Sales Management, sourcing products, customer data base management.* Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers and service providers.* Provide input on best practices, policies and procedures with respect to the sales department and other service providers.* Responsible for decisions relating to pricing structure/levels in relation to the profitability of your sales territory, within company established guidelines.* Follow internal procedures and make recommendations for improvement.The ideal candidate will have:* A competitive nature with an established track record in creating a portfolio of newly developed clients. Possess a clear understanding of our services, products and our competitive position in the marketplace.* Ability to interact effectively with a large number of internal and external customers, showing flexibility in meeting their individual needs.* A goal orientated self-starter, requiring minimal direction on how to develop new accounts.* Above average verbal, written and presentation skills.* Strong organizational and planning skills.* Computer literate with Microsoft Office\. Experience with SalesForce\.com an asset.* A vehicle and valid driver's license is required.* Previous experience in distribution sales, with an emphasis on janitorial and or the packaging sector.This position offers a competitive starting salary and comprehensive benefits program.
