Senior Project Engineer, Engine ReliabilityLocation:Kohler, WIOpportunityThis is more than a job posting for Kohler Company, one of the oldest and largest privately held companies in North America. The Senior Project Engineer, Engine Reliability executes projects by applying matured new technology platforms or reliability growth and problem-solving methods independently, involving design, development, fabrication, and validation. Ensures adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.Develop Validation Protocols in agreement with Risk Analysis and Reliability Growth methodology for new product design, product changes and customer product applications.Define Validation Protocols in agreement with Platform project development team for the testing and development of new engines, improvement of current engines and customization for new applications.Define Validation Protocols in agreement with Platform project development team for the testing and development of new components or new supply of existing ones (cost saving).Develop Validation Protocols from functional and reliability point of views.Develop guidelines in agreement with project and testing team to development activities of engines to reach Technical Approval.Follow project development so that Validation Plan can cover all the risk following priority given by the risk level from Risk analysis.Support design development team to release new testing protocols in agreement with standard good practice and with state-of-the-art knowledge to reach meaningful results in shorter testing time.Define and release procedures to standardize the involvement of customer and supplier facilities for product and components Validation.Participate to cross-functional projects teams for key new projects.Act as reference for other function (Platform, Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Assembly) for Validation Development on assigned engines.Support the manager in the preparation of test plans, including task breakdowns and timeline.Release new Validation procedures including customer field test and suppliers' special components test.Leads the use of best-practice tools as Risk Analysis and DFMEA.Skills/RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program is required5+ years mechanical engineering experience with engine operation and combustion processTravel 25% both domestic & globallyAdvanced knowledge of engine system validation testing protocols and accelerated testAdvanced knowledge of Reliability Risk Analysis toolsAdvanced knowledge of Problem-Solving techniquesAdvanced analysis capability and risk assessmentsEffectively balance between short- and long-term assignmentsStrong customer orientationWe will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity.Why Work at Kohler Co.?Kohler Co.'s mission is to contribute to a higher level of gracious living for those who are touched by our products and services.
