Position Description:

Purpose

Perform the day-to-day administrative activities of high-impact clinical research projects. Provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals. Assist with recruiting, training, and supervising staff and managing the program budget.

Primary Functions

  • Independently manages significant and key aspects of the Fresh Human Tissue Bank for cardiovascular research and support the Dept's clinical research/trial(s) activityCoordinate research protocols including arranging necessary appointments and procedures, working collaboratively with other departments and institutions, and maintaining contact with study participants.
  • Interfaces with research participants and resolves issues related to study protocols
  • Recruit, screen, enroll and obtain consent from program participants. Conduct or coordinate training for program participants.
  • Oversees data management for research projects
  • Periodically audits operations including laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations; provides leadership in identifying and implementing corrective actions/processes
  • Completes IRB submissions, maintains regulatory requirements and responds to requests and questions.
  • Interfaces with study sponsors, monitors and reports SAEs, resolves study queries.
  • Provides leadership in determining, recommending, and implementing improvements to policies/processes.
  • Authorizes purchases for supplies and equipment maintenance
  • Determines effective strategies for promoting/recruiting research participants and retaining participants in long term clinical trials
  • Identify problems or obstacles in the system/procedures related to implementation of the research protocols and communicate to the study investigators.
  • Assists in developing grant proposals and protocols.
  • Participates in on-call schedule as needed.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, records management and EPIC experience.

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, writing skills.
