Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia St. Mary's Hospital
Department: Structural Heart Program
Schedule: Full-time- 36 hours per week
Join our amazing and growing Structural Heart Program! Our
team includes highly experienced interventionalists, surgeons and
clinical associates that work very closely together while providing
comprehensive, specialized care for structural heart disease (SHD)
patients (Watchman, TAVR, MitraClip). This team also manages
ASD/PFO repairs and other various Structural Heart referrals (ie
HOCM, Tricuspid , etc).
Additional Job duties:
Conduct clinical research studies and implement research
protocol. Provide and document research observations and perform
collection of data, specimens, etc.
- Coordinate, evaluate, and follow patient participation in
clinical research. This includes identifying, enrolling, and
consenting patients, organizing study visits and follow-ups,
responding to patient telephone calls.
- Assist in the collection and evaluation of data. Complete all
forms required for proper protocol documentation.
- Enter patient data into the database and other programs.
Maintain patient records.
- Under physician direction, perform protocol-specific clinical
tasks including patient assessment, screening, ordering tests,
collecting specimens, and monitoring responses.
- Provide patient and family education. May provide staff
education concerning research protocols as required. Assist with
the development, implementation, and monitoring of QI
- Maintain and manage data and data systems supporting research
activities. This includes correspondence with IRBs; forms and data
entry and cross-checks; development and maintenance of computerized
record systems to track and account for patient’s

What You Will Do:

- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and
communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for
well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with
members of the healthcare team.
Licensure / Certification /
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job
transfer date required.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of
Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state
license if considered multi-state/Compact State.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
