Peer Support SupervisorJob Code: 2021-SPECIALI-059Location: Division of Specialized ServicesDepartment: CCS Ancillary ServicesFT/PT Status: Full TimeJob Responsibilities: Peer Specialist Supervisor Wisconsin Community Services (WCS) Specialized Services Program - CCS Position Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Ancillary program (CCS CPS staff and Support Specialist); responsible for supervising staff, collaborating with County staff, and troubleshooting program needs. Essential Functions: Supervise the WCS Peer Services Team serving people enrolled in the CCS program in reaching their goals. Committed and passionate leader with knowledge of serving people with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring needs. Co-facilitate weekly Peer Services Team meetings to discuss program strengths, program needs and to address the needs of staff and the people we serve. Evaluate staff performance, develop professional development goals with team members, complete coaching and disciplinary action, develop performance improvement plans, and identify training needs. Implement WCS Peer Services policies and procedures collaboratively with the CCS leadership team based on evidenced based practices. Embrace, role model, coach, and be a champion of a comprehensive team approach to meet the individualized needs of people with complex mental health and life needs. Accept appropriate referrals for the team and assigning the appropriate Peer Specialist to the person. Uphold and promote a positive, strength based, and supportive culture for staff and the individuals being served. Maintain confidentiality within all written and verbal communications. Responsible for accurate documentation and maintaining a case file as required by agency policy, government regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal codes. Hires, orients and trains all new staff; facilitates administrative staff meetings. Attends clinical staff meetings as needed. Meets regularly with BHD CCS staff, as required. Completes annual staff evaluations in a timely manner Collaborates with staff about individuals that need special attention, particularly if there are behavioral or complicated clinical issues that need resolution Ensures that staff are meeting the set service expectations per their role and that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner. Acts as a liaison between program staff and provider networks Fulfills terms of contract and responds to any and all issues regarding program service provision. Attends all required provider meetings and any and all other trainings as required by the providers. Ensures that appropriate disciplinary actions are taken as outlined in agency's policy and procedure manual. Assists with the completion of any required annual program evaluations. Responsible for CRC and Agency Demographic Report (compiling information to complete the monthly report, appropriate QA of the information and timely submission Other Duties and Responsibilities: Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position. Job Qualifications: Minimal Qualifications: The program supervisor is required to be a Certified Peer Specialist with a minimum of a one year providing peer services or similar. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Criminal justice is preferred; some supervisory experience is preferred; no convictions or license revocations that would fail a caregiver background check; valid driver's license, automobile and sufficient insurance to meet agency requirements. Other Job Information (if applicable): Work Relationship and Scope: Reports to the Specialized Services Director; has contact with a wide variety of individuals including those receiving services, all program staff, WCS Care Coordination staff, other contracted CCS Care Coordination agencies, BHD staff, and the general public. Personal Attributes: Follow agency Code of Conduct; adhere to established policies and procedures of the agency and of all funding sources; conduct self in an ethical manner; maintain professional and respectful relationships with program staff, other WCS staff, individuals receiving services and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision; sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability needs; demonstrate commitment to agency values and mission. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Substance use, mental health and co-occurring knowledge and skills with the ability to clearly communicate these to others; knowledge of agency policies and procedures and the ability to relay them to others; strong supervision skills and the ability to maintain and promote positive working relationships; excellent assessment and interviewing skills; good understanding of substance use and mental health needs; ability to support staff in difficult situations; effective use of time and resources to help maintain quality services. Familiar with Provider Connect and CCS Policy and Procedures. Working Conditions: Some of the work is done sitting at a desk and using the computer; requires provision of services and oversite of CCS Peer and Support Specialist positions; 40 hours per week; flexible work schedule may include some evenings. Physical Demands: Position is both office based and in the community; driving is done between a few sites; must be able to go up and down stairs; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
