Position Summary Supervise and provide support to trips and
tripping staff both on and off of camp. Organize and implement
program activities, as well as uphold all policy, procedures, and
safety standards for the wellbeing of staff and campers. This
seasonal full-time position is needed at Camp Alice Chester in East
Troy, WI from May 2023 through August 2023.
Compensation$504/week
What You'll Do
- Supervises and provides support to outdoor skills lead and trip
leaders.
- Coordinate with outfitters, vendors, and campgrounds prior to
and during camp session.
- Provide schedules and itinerary for off-site programs.
- Organize equipment and meals for off-site trips and weekly in
camp cook outs.
- Be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of campers
both in camp and off-site on field trips.
- Train and supervise trip staff to lead adventure trips both on
and off of camp which includes but are not limited to Hiking

RidingKayakingCanoeingCavingZiplining
- Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service staff
trainings.
- Oversee set-up of trip equipment and assist with pre and post
season inventories and storage of equipment for winter.
- Maintain and ensure appropriate adult to camper ratios with
groups.
- Teach skills necessary for trip staff to run trip programming
successfully such as campsite set up, emergency procedures off
site, fire building.
- Supervise and assist with cleaning and care of supplies,
equipment, and property.
- Submit or place orders for equipment and /or supplies when
necessary, ensuring timely arrival of materials.
- Interpret and enforce State Standards and the Girl Scouts
Safety Activity Checkpoints, and American Camps Association
Standards
- Prepare, review, and submit records and requested reports on
time.
- Comprehend, monitor and be willing to assist with crisis
management plan and overall safety guidelines, including
emergency.
- Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Experience and/or education in camp/recreational programming
preferred.
- First Aid/CPR preferred or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to schedule and supervise staff.
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
- Good driving record and valid driver's license for at least one
year. Valid driver's license, compliance with the council's policy
of automobile insurance limits, and a driving record that meets the
requirements for coverage of the council's business auto insurance
carrier.
- Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout
program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
- Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work in a rustic
outdoor environment with irregular hours preferred.
- Physical demands and work environment regularly requires the
employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and as
well as inclement weather and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Commitment to creating and maintaining a positive, fun, and
professional environment.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate instructions, issues,
and needs with campers, staff, and supervisors.
- Uphold and respect camp and Girl Scout traditions.
- Willingness to be an active member of camp and all camp
activities.
- Must have background check completed by GSWISE.
