Job Description:

The Fiber Optic Designer will be responsible for designing fiber optic networks, developing plans, calculating quantities, preparing permits, and coordinating projects involving the design of fiber optic networks throughout the United States.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work cohesively with a team of fiber optic designers and utility designers to assist with design and plan development of fiber optic networks as per client standards and specifications. Projects include design of both underground and overhead fiber optic facilities located primarily in Wisconsin but also in other states.
• Utilize ArcGIS software programs to develop plans for fiber optic systems
• Size various system components, nodes, and fiber optic lines.
• Complete quantity calculations and material lists for installation of fiber optic systems
• Assist with field verification of existing property addresses, building types, and usage types and document findings in spreadsheets.
