Our client is currently seeking a AUTOMATION CONTROLS SPECIALIST near Grand Rapids, MichiganAs an Automation Controls Specialist in a manufacturing setting, your role would involve designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems that automate production processes. You would work closely with engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure that production runs efficiently and that quality standards are met.Some of your key responsibilities include:Designing and implementing automation control systems for new and existing manufacturing processes.Troubleshooting and repairing control systems to maintain optimal production levels.Developing and maintaining control system documentation, including schematics, programming, and operator manuals.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.Supporting the implementation of new equipment and processes, including programming and testing.Providing technical support to production teams to ensure that equipment is operating correctly and that any issues are quickly resolved.Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for improvement.Must be open to 2nd shiftRequirements/Skills:To be successful in this role, you would need a strong background in automation controls, as well as a thorough understanding of PLC programming and HMI development.You should be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and have experience with process control systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
