Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Microbiologist for their manufacturing facility in central Illinois. Our client is a leading global manufacturing company that pride themselves on innovation, quality, exceptional workplace culture, and growth potential.Responsibilities:Responsible for GLP, including equipment monitoring and calibration as well as media preparation and biohazard disposalEvaluate, develop, implement, and maintain testing procedures and programs.Ensure all microbiological methods meet compliance requirementsPerform microbiological testing in the laboratory and work to develop new microbiological assays for in-house testingInterpret microbiological data generated both internally and by third party testing facilities; report data and trends and initiate appropriate follow-up actionsTroubleshoot all testing/sampling abnormalities to ensure proper results are reported; initiate proper guidelines for corrective/preventative action immediatelyInvestigate product holds for microbiological reasons and make recommendations for appropriate actions based on scientific findings and/or companyPerform daily plant/lab inspections and manage the facilities environmental testing program; analyze results to ensure a microbiologically sound environment for productionAll other duties as assigned by Lab Supervisor or Lab Manager.Qualifications & Requirements:Prefer 3+ years' food or beverage manufacturing experience.MUST have PCR experience and proficiency interpreting results.MUST have a B.S. in Microbiology or a related degree.Must be open to 1st or 2nd shift.Must have a quality and safety centered approach!
