As the only accredited school of public health in the state of Wisconsin, the Zilber School fosters a uniquely interdisciplinary environment and offers opportunities for collaboration across the University. Research interests of current Health Policy faculty include tobacco control, social media, health systems research, immigrant health, socioeconomic health policies, racial/ethnic segregation, and health disparities. Other faculty in the Zilber School are involved in research that spans life-course analyses, maternal child health, epigenetics, developmental neurobiology and immunotoxicology, environmental toxicology, social and environmental epidemiology, causal inference, statistical genetics, and survival analysis. Job Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position performs event and building coordination responsibilities and provides administration support to staff and faculty. The incumbent uses independent judgement, self-directed initiative and creative problem-solving skills in his/her role. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality. The incumbent must demonstrate a professional and ethical demeanor and possess a high level of integrity. This position will present a positive, energetic, helpful attitude in all communication, as well as a positive image for the Zilber School of Public Health. Minimum Qualifications * Minimum of six months demonstrated work experience in an administrative related role * Demonstrated experience using common business productivity software and applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, electronic calendars, etc.) * Evidence of strong organizational skills (as demonstrated by examples of experience organizing and prioritizing multiple or complex projects) * Evidence of strong written communication skills (based on an evaluation of submitted application materials) Preferred Qualifications * Demonstrated experience with event planning * Demonstrated experience with building management * Evidence of strong customer service skills based on previous job history * Evidence of ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines Application Instructions Applicants are highly encouraged to utilize the cover letter to thoroughly address their experience (including dates of employment) or applicable coursework as it relates specifically to the minimum and preferred qualifications listed above.
