This is what makes Konecranes a unique place to work.Control Engineer -- Engineered ModernizationsGeneral Position Responsibilities:This position will be an engineered modernizations control engineer responsible for all electrical design activities, hardware selection, PLC/IPC program development, and implementation of software based control systems on electric overhead cranes and portal cranes.Responsibilities Territory- All region Americas (USA, Canada) Essential Functions: Engineering design, testing and commissioning of crane control systems. Perform engineering tasks using established procedures. These include but are not limited to component selection, schematic design, system layout, automation control programming, and system documentation. Generate system architecture and automation network drawings. Project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget from inquiry through start-up. Testing and troubleshooting of control systems. PLC/IPC programing Qualifications:This position requires excellent understanding of electricity, motor control electrical circuits, and analog and digital input/output. Experience designing and troubleshooting motor control circuits utilizing electromagnetic devices and variable frequency drives (VFD's) is essential. Must have a working knowledge of a wide variety of software packages, operating systems and control equipment. Specifically, a knowledge of PLC programing software is required. A qualified candidate must be proficient in reading electrical schematics and vendor application drawings. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Verbal and written communication plays a key role in this positionThis position requires the direct interface between frontline sales, customers, production planning (Watertown), and project management. Site visits for application and commissioning require the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet off the ground.
