Job Description:

Shipping Clerk - Resume & Interview Required

1st shift, Monday to Friday (flexible schedule)

$17+ per hour BOE

Duties and Tasks:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all - inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Checks in and empties finished goods staging area by completing packing slip and giving finished goods a bin location.
• Reviews open order report for due for that day.
• Makes sure orders are complete and on the dock check if any overage can be shipped.
• Verifies product is packaged properly.
• Generates required paperwork for shipment (packing list, bill of lading, and material certs if required.)
• Ships product using proper carrier. (Common Carrier, UPS, FED EX, Expedited freight line, or GP Truck)
• If it is GP truck delivery loads truck and delivers. If it is any other carrier calls or goes online and requests pickup.
• If order is short checks with Production Manager or Customer service if the order can be shipped short or is still in process.
• Communicates any labeling, packaging, or counting issues to the Production Manager.
• Makes sure Maintenance Work Orders are completed for any repair or damage.
• Supports & drives continual improvement.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
  Qualifications:
  
  • Valid drivers license
  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Previous shipping experience required. (1-3 years)
  • Computer proficiency required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
    Requirements:
    
    • Language skillso Ability to read and interpret documents.
      
      o Ability to write reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence.
      
      o Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees.
      
      - Mathematical & reasoning skills
      
      o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
      
      o Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
      
      o Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
      
      o Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
