Job Description
This position is within the Domestic Institutional Risk Management
team, which is a risk management & compliance function within the
broader Credit Risk Management department. Primary responsibility
of this position is to support the Bank's growth and profitability
via discretionary facilities by conducting credit analysis,
proposing internal rating assignments, and making counterparty risk
limit recommendations of various counterparties and financial
institutions in the United States. Credit analysis includes
research and evaluation of financial performance, operating
environment, management, ownership, market position/concentration,
and strengths/weaknesses in the context of the current and forecast
economic environment, resulting in sound counterparty risk
management. Proposals and recommendations are presented in
writing.
Other core responsibilities include monitoring financial condition
of assigned portfolio, conducting initial analysis, interim credit
actions, and periodic reviews of assigned portfolios. This position
has extensive interaction with a broad array of business lines
throughout the company, as the analyst will serve as point person
for Front Office for management of credit and counterparty risk
resulting from transactions executed by the different business
lines. Business lines supported by this position include Depository
Financial Institutions, Insurance, Security Industry & Investment
Management, Foreign Exchange, Corporate Treasury, Capital Markets,
Payment Systems, Leasing, and Wealth. Successful candidates exhibit
strong abilities in the areas of organization, self-motivation,
flexibility, and adaptability. The position regularly evolves to
include credit approval responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically more than six years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
Proficient in MS Excel
Extensive credit analysis, investigation, and decision making
skills
Strong working knowledge of accounting, economics and finance
Fundamental knowledge of or experience working in the banking
industry
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work independently, with
internal customers and in a team environment
Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial
services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of
business
Considerable understanding of the business line's operations,
products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management
skills
Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal
communication skills
Effective relationship building and negotiation skills
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software
packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word
processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
Applicable professional certifications

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location,
which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ
based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank
offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and
recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and
pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay
Range: $99,365.00 - $116,900.00 - $128,590.00
