What is it all about

Illingworth-Kilgust's HVAC Sales Project Manager is responsible for the sale of a variety of HVAC and process systems with estimating and project management being a secondary focus. This role sells services and products using technical, organizational and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs.

Some of the activities for this position are listed below:

* Actively pursue and acquire new business through developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

* Ability to present to prospective clients and possess a sound understanding of proposed project plans, specifications and other contractual documents.

* Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with projects.

* Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and problems.

* Initiate and maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.

* Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.

* Work closely with the CAD/BIM Manager to ensure work for projects is complete.

* Purchase major HVAC equipment and other materials for projects.

* Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

* Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.

* Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.

* Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete project.

* Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients.

* Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.

* Review shop drawings for conformance

* Communicate with customer/contractor during the project,

* Manage projects to ensure the budgets established are met

* Collaborates with other departments in the acquisition of tooling, materials, equipment, etc. to complete the project

* Collaborates with the Safety Personnel to develop project-specific safety plans

* Develops project schedules in compliance with customer requirements, deadlines, and/or milestones; develops mechanisms to track schedule progress in the field; and updates the schedule regularly

* Communicates schedule updates and any schedule slippage remedies to the customer and gains approval including any compensation component.

* Provides forecasts to the customer and participates in forecast/budget meetings as required.

* Develops project budget based on the estimate/proposal.

* Prepares and distributes completed RFPs for subcontractors.

* Reviews subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope coverage

* Furnishes information to the Contract Administrator to complete subcontract agreements including scope of work, pricing, and customer-specific requirements.

* Participates in department meetings as requested

* Performs additional assignments as requested and maintains a teamwork attitude.

What you bring

* HVAC experience

* Minimum one year of sales experience

* Experience creating and maintaining budgets

* Knowledge of Wisconsin building codes

* Project management and/or estimating experience a plus

* Skilled using Microsoft Office.

* Ability to keep confidential information private.
