Job Description:

Responsible for implementing, executing and managing sales to restaurants and bars in assigned territory. Establish professional relationships with customers to achieve long term goals in line with company values. Responsible for conducting training and education of assigned customer staff and owners.WHAT YOU GET TO DOContact all assigned accounts on a regular and scheduled basisDrive distribution of new products and new sizes of supplier portfoliosEstablish and maintain good customer relations to create respect and rapport with those customer accountsAbility to pre-plan sales, territory and account specific objectives towards goal attainmentKnowledge of products, categories, competitive conditions and market trends and be able to translate into an action plan to grow the customers' businessDesign, maintain and update programs for assigned customersEffectively utilize point of sale such as table tents, bar cards, bar kits and permanent signageParticipate in supplier blitzConduct staff trainings at customer accounts within assigned territoryAbility to recognize, respond and communicate sales opportunities and threatsAbility to overcome objections, ask for the sale and submit an accurate orderAbility to take accurate inventories and recommend appropriate stock levelsFacilitate wine dinners and attend wine seminars, where applicableAbility to pre-plan sales, territory and account specific objectives towards sales quotas and distributionsMaintain weekly pre-plan for assigned territoryAdhere to federal, state and company regulations that govern our industryFollow up on customer issues and concerns and follows through on customer commitmentsManage accounts receivable and collections to company standards in cooperation with the company Credit DepartmentMaintain and update master sales route lists which include buyer information, sales call times, call back times and merchandising detailComplete, communicate and submit all reports and surveys for territory to management in a timely mannerRequired to work (regular or overtime) or provide on call support on any day, may include nights, weekends and holidaysAdditional duties as assigned by managementWHAT WE VALUEIntermediate computer skillsMust be able to work well independently and in the context of team environmentsAdvanced verbal and written communication skillsAbility to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomesAdvanced planning and organizational skills to meet deadlinesAbility to understand business finances such as: profit and loss, gross margin, percentages and business economicsAdvanced organizational, time management and negotiation skillsMust possess professional presentation skillsDemonstrate and exhibit a high level of professionalismMust be able to interact with employees on all levelsAdvanced selling and strategic thinking skillsMust be able to make sound decisionsEffectively be able to problem solve situations with both internal and external accountsAbility to understand pricing and promotional modelsProven ability to achieve sales quotasStrong mathematical skills related to product pricingAbility to analyze sales data in order to formulate proposals or suggestionsAbility to prioritize competing tasksAbility to review and analyze significant amounts of dataMust have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with company policies, practices and within the lawStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsMust be proficient in various technology platforms such as Apps, smartphone functionality, etc.Strong understanding of wine and spirits industryWHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOUA minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) requiredA Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferredExperience of three (3) to five (5) years of industry experience preferredCertified Specialist of Spirits (CSS), Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) or Certified Wine Educator (CWE) preferredExperience in a distribution and/or sales environment preferredValid driver license, insurance and satisfactory driving record required
